What’s in the 1992 Chevrolet Pickup dealer information book
This is Chevrolet Motor Division’s 1992 C/K Pickup dealer information book, with pages revised as late as December 1991. It covers the 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups in two- and four-wheel drive, with powertrain charts, chassis specifications, dimensions, option availability and trailering tables. It also carries a separate C/K Crew Cab Pickup supplement for the C3500 and K3500, plus GM’s 1992 truck-camper loading booklet. The engine table adds a 6.5L turbo diesel, marked as interim 1992 availability.
Models and trim levels
- C1500 (2WD) and K1500 (4WD): Regular Cab Sportside (E62, 6.5-ft box), Regular Cab Fleetside (E63, 6.5- or 8-ft box), Extended Cab Sportside, and Extended Cab Fleetside.
- C/K2500 Regular and Extended Cab Fleetside; C/K3500 Regular and Extended Cab, including Big Dooley dual-rear-wheel models (R05).
- WT 1500 (VLA): CC10903 8-ft Fleetside at 5600 or 6100 lb GVWR, 4.3L V6.
- 454 SS (B4U): CC10703/E63/B4U, 6.5-ft box, 7.4L V8 with 4-speed automatic, 1527 lb maximum payload, 2 passengers.
- Crew Cab supplement: C3500 Crew Cab Fleetside (CC30943, 9000 or 9600 lb GVWR), C3500 Crew Cab Big Dooley (10,000 lb), K3500 Crew Cab Fleetside (CK30943, 9200 lb) and K3500 Crew Cab Big Dooley (10,000 lb). All have 8-ft boxes and seat 6, with a 5.7L V8 standard and a 7.4L V8 optional.
- Trim levels: WT 1500 (VLA), Cheyenne (standard), Scottsdale (Z62), Silverado (YE9), 454 SS (B4U).

Transmissions and axles
- 5-speed manual with overdrive (MM5), heavy-duty 5-speed NP4500 (MT8), and 4-speed automatics 4L60 and 4L80-E (both MX0).
- MT8 is standard on C/K1500 and C/K2500 diesels, on C/K2500 C6P models and on the 454 SS. It is not available on the WT 1500.
- Transfer cases: New Process 241 (K1500/2500, 2.72:1 low range) and Borg Warner 4401 (K3500, 2.69:1 low range).
- Rear axle ratios in the powertrain charts: 3.08, 3.42, 3.73, 4.10 and 4.56. G80 is the locking rear differential.

- VYU Snow Plow Prep Package (4WD regular cab): F44 heavy-duty chassis, KC4 oil cooler, F60 springs and F51 shocks, depending on model
- BYP Sport Package: black grille, composite headlamps, fog lamps (C10703), tailgate graphics, aluminum wheels and 4×4 decals (CK10703)
- ZQ8 Sport Suspension: Bilstein gas shocks and 12.7:1 steering
